Corrosion resistance and main application environment:
MONEL400 is generally superior to nickel copper in corrosion resistance. It is more resistant to reducing medium corrosion than pure nickel and oxidation medium corrosion than pure copper. It has very good corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and carbon. Especially, it is resistant to the corrosion of hydrochloric acid and hot concentrated alkali. Corrosion resistance and main application environment:

254SMO stainless steel is a kind of super austenitic stainless steel with high corrosion resistance. It is developed for halide and acid environment. It is widely used in harsh working conditions such as high concentration chloride medium and seawater. 254SMO is much better than other stainless steels in various industrial occasions of acid medium, especially in the acid containing halide.

Due to its low carbon content and high molybdenum content, it has good pitting corrosion resistance, crevice corrosion resistance and excellent intergranular corrosion resistance. It is a kind of cost-effective stainless steel, which is widely used in chemical industry, desulfurization and environmental protection at home and abroad.

In pure sulfuric acid, 254SMO has much higher corrosion resistance than 316 stainless steel. However, compared with 904L (no8904) stainless steel, the corrosion resistance of 254SMO is slightly weaker at high concentration. In sulfuric acid containing chloride ion, 254SMO has the greatest corrosion resistance. Because local corrosion and uniform corrosion may occur, 316 ordinary stainless steel cannot be used in hydrochloric acid, but 254SMO can be used in diluted hydrochloric acid at normal temperature. There is no need to worry about pitting below the boundary line. But we must try to avoid the existence of cracks. In Fluorosilicic Acid (h2sif4) and hydrofluoric acid (HF), the corrosion resistance range of common stainless steel is very limited, while 254SMO can be used in a wide range of concentration and temperature.

904L is a kind of austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content and high metallization, which is designed for the environment with severe corrosion conditions. It has high cost performance with consideration of both price and performance. Due to the addition of 1.5% copper, it has excellent corrosion resistance for reducing acids such as sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. It also has excellent corrosion resistance to stress corrosion, pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion caused by chloride ion, and has good resistance to intergranular corrosion. In the concentration range of 0-98%, the temperature of 904L can be as high as 40 ℃. In the range of 0-85% phosphoric acid, its corrosion resistance is very good. In industrial phosphoric acid produced by wet process, impurities have a strong influence on corrosion resistance. In all kinds of phosphoric acid, the corrosion resistance of 904L is better than that of ordinary stainless steel. In strong oxidizing nitric acid, the corrosion resistance of 904L steel is lower than that of high alloy steel without molybdenum.
